How to send a large file for free
How it works
LargeFile is a free large file transfer service with no registration required, designed for both individuals and businesses. You can send up to 10 GB per transfer for free, or up to 50 GB with a pack, to a maximum of 30 recipients.
You can send one large file, multiple files or an entire folder directly from your browser on a computer, smartphone or tablet. No app is required.
LargeFile acts as a relay between the sender and recipients. Once the transfer is complete, each recipient receives an email containing a link to download the files. Files remain available for 14 days, and their availability can be extended free of charge.

Send your files step by step
1
Step 1: Select your files or folder
- Click “Select your files” to add one or more files, or select an entire folder.
- You can select several files at once.
- Once confirmed, the selected files appear in the list under step 1.
- You can add more files or folders before or during the transfer, within the applicable file-count and transfer-size limits.
- To remove a file from your selection, click “Remove” next to the relevant file.
2
Step 2: Start transferring your files
- As soon as at least one file is listed, you can start the transfer.
- Click “Start transferring your files”.
- If necessary, you can stop the transfer by clicking “Stop transfer”.
- If your Internet connection is interrupted, LargeFile can resume a partial transfer without requiring you to restart the entire upload from the beginning.
- While your files are being transferred, you can already move on to step 3 and prepare your message.
Resume support is also available when your recipients download files. Learn more in our frequently asked questions.

Step 3: Write your message
- Enter your name: it will be displayed as the sender to your recipients.
- Enter your email address: it is used, among other things, to send you confirmation of your transfer.
- Add your recipients' email addresses. You can send files to up to 30 recipients per transfer.
- You can copy and paste multiple email addresses from your email software; they are formatted automatically.
- Add a subject and a personalized message. This helps recipients identify your transfer and can reduce the risk of the email being treated as spam.
- If you wish, you can also request a receipt from the recipient.
Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required and must contain valid information before the message and files can be sent.

Step 4: Send your message and files
- Once the file transfer is complete and all required fields have been filled in, click “Send your message and files”.
- The transfer confirmation page will then be displayed.
- If the file transfer is not yet complete, you can select “Click here to send automatically when the transfer is complete”. You do not need to remain in front of your screen, but the page must stay open until the transfer is finished.
What happens after you send the files?
Once your transfer has been finalized, each recipient receives an email containing a unique download link. They can download the files directly from their browser without registering.
Files remain available for 14 days. Two days before they expire, LargeFile sends you an email allowing you to extend their availability by 7 days free of charge. This extension can be renewed for a maximum total availability of 6 months.
You can also track your transfer and see which files your recipients have downloaded. If a download is interrupted, it can be resumed without restarting it from the beginning.
