LargeFile is a large file transfer service provided by GrosFichiers Sàrl, based in Sion, Switzerland. Our servers are located in Canada.
These terms of use define the rules applicable to the use of the LargeFile service, whether for sending, receiving or downloading files.
Use of the service constitutes full acceptance of these terms of use.
We treat the data provided by users of the service as confidential. We do not sell or commercialize users' personal data or the content of transferred files.
Files and the data required for the operation of transfers are stored on our own physical servers, located in Canada.
Certain data may nevertheless be processed by technical service providers necessary for the operation of the service or disclosed where required by applicable law.
LargeFile complies with the requirements of the European General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). For more information about the data processed, how it is used, how long it is retained and your rights, please consult our privacy and cookie policy.
The content of files transferred through LargeFile is treated as confidential. GrosFichiers Sàrl implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the files and data entrusted to it.
For each transfer, LargeFile generates a management link for the sender, as well as a global download link. Each recipient also receives their own individual download link.
Download links contain identifiers that are difficult to guess. However, anyone with a valid download link can access the corresponding files. The sender and recipients are therefore responsible for keeping these links confidential and should avoid forwarding them to people for whom the files are not intended.
Individual links sent to recipients allow LargeFile to associate downloads with the email address of the recipient to whom the link was sent. Downloads made using the global download link, however, cannot be attributed to an identified recipient.
If a recipient forwards their individual link to another person, any download made using that link may remain associated with the recipient to whom the link was originally sent.
The management link is intended exclusively for the sender and must not be shared with third parties.
Communications between the user's browser and the LargeFile servers are protected by an HTTPS connection using TLS. This protection applies when uploading and downloading files.
The service does not provide end-to-end encryption of the files themselves.
GrosFichiers Sàrl cannot be held liable for a security failure beyond its control, particularly in the event of malicious activity, compromise of a user's device or a deliberate attack on its computer systems by a third party.
The user is solely responsible for the files they transfer, share or download through LargeFile.
The user guarantees that they have all rights, authorizations or licenses required to transfer, share and allow the downloading of files transmitted through the service.
In particular, it is prohibited to use LargeFile to transmit or distribute:
GrosFichiers Sàrl reserves the right to delete without prior notice any transfer that is the subject of a credible report, is likely to constitute unlawful or abusive use of the service, or poses a risk to the security of its infrastructure or users.
We also reserve the right to restrict or block access to the service in the event of abuse, excessive automated use, misuse of the service or failure to comply with these terms.
LargeFile is a service for sending large files through our servers using a standard web browser.
The free service allows transfers of up to 10 GB per transfer. Paid packs allow certain limits to be increased and provide additional features.
LargeFile acts as a temporary relay between the sender and recipients. Each recipient receives an email containing an individual link allowing them to download the transferred files. The sender also receives a global download link.
The service also allows certain interrupted transfers to be resumed, both when uploading and downloading, without having to restart the entire transfer from the beginning.
LargeFile is a temporary file transfer service and is not a backup, archiving or permanent storage service. Users remain responsible for keeping an original copy of their files.
With the free service, the maximum size of a transfer is 10 GB and the maximum number of files is 300 files per transfer.
By default, files remain available for 14 days.
Where this feature is available, the sender may extend their availability free of charge for additional periods, up to a maximum total duration of six months.
Once their availability period has definitively expired, files are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers and cannot be recovered.
GrosFichiers Sàrl cannot be held liable for loss of data. Users must therefore keep a copy of any files transmitted through the service.
LargeFile offers paid packs that can increase certain transfer limits, remove advertising and, depending on the pack selected, provide additional features.
Packs may, in particular, allow transfers of up to 50 GB and increase the maximum number of files allowed. The Pro Pack also allows the download page shown to recipients to be customized, including with the user's logo and colors.
The applicable features, limits, durations and prices are those shown on the Standard and Pro packs page at the time of purchase.
Packs are not automatically renewed, unless otherwise explicitly stated to the user at the time of purchase.
When a pack expires, the additional features and limits associated with it cease to be available, subject to transfers already in progress or any specific provisions stated at the time of purchase.
As far as reasonably possible, we strive to make LargeFile available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, we do not guarantee permanent or uninterrupted availability.
We reserve the right to temporarily interrupt all or part of the service, particularly for maintenance, security, upgrades, infrastructure improvements or capacity reasons.
We strive to keep planned or unplanned interruptions as short as possible.
GrosFichiers Sàrl cannot be held liable for consequences resulting from an interruption, slowdown or unavailability of the service where these result, in particular, from maintenance, force majeure, network failure or an event beyond its control.
Users acknowledge the particular characteristics and constraints of the Internet, including the fact that data transmission depends on networks and equipment over which GrosFichiers Sàrl does not necessarily have control.
We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, but we strive to provide a professional, reliable and secure service.
GrosFichiers Sàrl reserves the right to change the features, technical limits or conditions of the service, particularly to reflect technical, economic, legal or security developments.
We reserve the right to modify these terms of use at any time.
The applicable version is the version published on the LargeFile website at the time the service is used. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
